Bidai Syulan: I think the China Film Festival is very special, because new york is the cultural and artistic center of the world, and there are various artists living here. At the same time, I am very happy to be able to show China films to different people in the world. And you can see many famous buildings and classics, such as Broadway, so I think this film festival is really special.
Movie Network: Did you think that the fans here would be so enthusiastic before you came here?
Bidai Syulan: You mean the red carpet just now? I am really happy to see my compatriots here. Although it is the first time to meet each other, they are like friends who have known each other for a long time.
Movie Network: I brought a new work "Living with Fashion" this time. It is said that Su Yan plays in it. Is it stressful?
Bidai Syulan: No pressure, very relaxed. It only takes fifteen minutes to put on makeup when filming, and I will wear my favorite sportswear and sneakers, just like I usually go out. Unlike previous costume films, such as the Snow Demon in The Legend of the White Snake, makeup will take a long time.
Movie Network: The role in the film is also a bit silly. Will it be similar to yourself?
Bidai Syulan: I’m a silly elder sister. I should be informal and straightforward, which is more like me (laughs).
Movie Network: At the end of this film, your role betrayed the people who trusted you the most. Have you ever betrayed others or been betrayed in your life?
Bidai Syulan: I have never betrayed anyone, because I have received positive education from my parents since I was a child. I have been betrayed by others, because some people may have different education and environment and make mistakes, so I can understand the person who betrayed me better. Of course, I was still angry, so I wrote the song "Pretending to be an angel". Just like the movie Living with Fashion, it also talks about the contradictions and dark side of human nature, but the film teaches people to face themselves and stand up again in a loving environment in a relatively relaxed way.
