Reminder | Tick away the money? Think about this function of WeChat Alipay before using it.
Cctv newsToday, no matter whether you go out for shopping or dining, it is no longer strange to take out your mobile phone and "sweep it". However, after the full popularity of online payment, the payment risk has become the biggest security risk for mobile phone users. Especially some payment functions, users may not know.
No password, click and the money will be taken away!
At a fast-food restaurant in Tianjin, Mr. Zhang pointed his mobile phone at the cash register and only heard a "beep" to end the whole payment process. However, what makes Mr. Zhang slightly puzzled is that there is no need to enter the payment password when paying.
Ms. Sun reflected that when she used a debit card of China Bank to spend money, the payee completed the spending just like swiping a subway bus card, and did not need to enter a password.
There are media tests. No matter using the payment function of WeChat or Alipay or the bank card with the function of "flash payment", there is no need to enter the payment password when the consumption does not exceed a certain amount, and there is no confirmation link for the payment price. This is because your functions of "small secret exemption" and "flash payment" are turned on.
What are the functions of "small secret exemption" and "flash payment"?
According to industry insiders, such payments as "small secret-free" and "flash payment" mean that when the consumption amount is lower than the limited value, the user can complete the consumption without entering a password. At present, many people have opened and used the function of "small amount of confidentiality" when paying. Although the payment process is simple and convenient, it is also easy for consumers to be stolen without knowing it.
Searching for keywords on the Internet is not difficult to find that this "hidden danger" is not a case. Xiao Xu’s mobile phone was stolen from a hotel in a scenic spot in Hangzhou. Due to the secret-free function of WeChat micropayment, all the money in WeChat balance and bound bank card was stolen. Many people said, "It used to be the most troublesome to lose the phone book, but now I have to worry that the money connected to the phone may be gone."
The function is turned on by default, and the economic loss is borne by the individual.
According to the information of UnionPay, the issuing bank often sets the function of "small amount of confidentiality and visa exemption" together with "flash payment" as the default. When a cardholder conducts a transaction with a certain amount (RMB in 300 yuan, subject to the local limit overseas) or less, he only needs to put the bank card near the "flash payment" sensing area to complete the payment. In this process, the cardholder will not be asked to enter a password, and there is no need to sign.
According to the customer service staff of China Bank, this kind of "small-sum secret-free" service with the logo of "quickpass for Flash Payment" on the card surface is opened by default, and no password is required for payment, and each transaction cannot exceed 300 yuan, and each card is capped at 2,000 yuan per day. If there is a security risk, the customer needs to bring his ID card to the bank outlet to cancel the business.
In terms of mobile payment, Alipay’s "payment code" function is turned on by default, and its instructions state that it is not necessary to verify the payment password for every order less than or equal to 1000 yuan.
It is also stated in the WeChat payment user service agreement that when the payment code is used to pay the consumption less than 3,000 yuan in 1000 yuan (a specific merchant), there is no need to verify the transaction instructions such as passwords, and the economic losses caused by loss and other behaviors are borne by individuals.
Experts remind: security is the premise of convenient payment.
Users often don’t know when this payment function is turned on, which has certain security risks. Experts said that relevant institutions should effectively inform users when opening such functions, and don’t forget the safety red line while pursuing convenience.
Cheng Hua, an associate professor at the School of Economics of Renmin University of China, said that at present, payment institutions have not done enough in popularizing basic knowledge and informing relevant information, and many consumers have actively or passively opened this service without clearly understanding the advantages and disadvantages of a certain function. The supervision of "small-sum confidential exemption" must be strengthened. For accounts with intensive confidential payment, the payment institution should set up an early warning or even tracking mechanism, or delay the transfer to avoid the loss of users’ property.
Cao Xingquan, a professor at the School of Civil and Commercial Law of Southwest University of Political Science and Law, believes that functional services such as "small-sum confidential payment" need to be set up with a prompt and delayed reading mechanism when they are opened. Relevant institutions or banks should solicit opinions from users when they are opened, and actively fulfill their obligation of explanation, and cannot simply open a function for users in the form of "default". As the last "safety line" of payment, passwords cannot be easily cancelled.
