At the beginning of the new year, Tesla once again brought surprises to the China market! On January 1, 2021, the domestic Tesla Model Y was officially announced. The two models were positioned as a long-life version (priced at 339,900 yuan) and a Performance high-performance version (369,900 yuan). The long-life version is expected to be delivered in January, and the high-performance version will join the lineup in the third quarter of 2021. At the same time, the price of Model 3 Performance high-performance all-wheel drive version has also been adjusted, down by 79,900 yuan, showing Tesla’s positive response strategy to the market.

As a new member of the family, Model Y inherits Tesla’s high-performance and intelligent design concept, and makes its debut with a new attitude of medium-sized SUV. Its design is inspired by Model 3, but features such as panoramic glass roof, blackened chrome decoration of the whole car and redesigned front door panel are added, giving users a broader vision and a more refined appearance. The use of electric tailgate and flat rear seats makes Model Y show the flexibility and practicability of SUV, especially the expansion function of trunk space.

In terms of interiors, Model Y continues the minimalist style of Model 3, but thanks to the larger body, it provides more spacious interior space. According to official data, the storage space of Model Y has reached 1,919 liters. Although only black interior is provided at present, with the increase of production capacity, the white interior version is just around the corner. In terms of configuration, five paint colors are available, of which black is free, and the other colors need to be increased by 8,000 yuan. In addition, the long-life version is equipped with a 19-inch Gemini wheel as standard, and upgrading to a 20-inch induction turbine wheel requires an additional 8,000 yuan, while the Performance high-performance version is equipped with a 21-inch cyclone wheel as standard, showing a more domineering personality.

In terms of performance, the Model Y long-life version is equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, and the 0-100km/h acceleration takes only 5.1 seconds, while the high-performance version is shortened to 3.7 seconds. In terms of cruising range, the long-range version can reach 594 kilometers, and the starting price is only 339,900 yuan, while the high-performance version is 480 kilometers, and the starting price is 369,900 yuan.
