To this end, 12306 began to build a risk control system in 2018 to identify some abnormal behaviors including browsers and IP and intercept them. The redemption rate of standby tickets is 70%
The alternate ticket purchasing function helped many people who didn’t grab tickets to buy tickets. Since the ticket sales in Spring Festival travel rush started, 12306 has fulfilled 5.826 million standby orders and issued 7.237 million tickets, with a redemption rate of 70%.

At the same time, the waiting deadline is shortened to 6 hours before driving. After the time is shortened, passengers have more time and opportunities to "catch up". The automatic embedding component is also added to the standby function. If the ticket is sold out when the passenger submits the ticket purchase order, but the ticket purchase information has been filled in, after the automatic embedding function is enabled, the passenger does not need to fill in the information repeatedly. This year, 12306 also launched a number of new measures for ticket sales. The time to stop selling Internet tickets has been shortened from 30 minutes before driving to 25 minutes, providing more time for purchasing tickets. Face recognition password retrieval function is online. Based on face recognition, mobile APP can handle services such as cybersquatting, user logout, password retrieval, and member activation. When the information is squatted again, passengers can "grab" it back through face recognition, and the information that was squatted before will be cancelled.
12306 also extended the service hours. The service of the Internet ticketing system was delayed by half an hour, and the ticket purchase time was from 6: 00 to 23: 30. The Internet was opened for 24-hour login, inquiry and user information maintenance.
Priority allocation of return tickets is expected to be launched.
This year, Spring Festival travel rush sold tickets. In 12306, the ticketing system was introduced to give priority to the allocation of lower berth tickets for the elderly and seats adjacent to peers for children. For children’s tickets traveling with adults, the system will automatically find adjacent seats.
Many passengers report that it is more difficult to buy a return ticket from Spring Festival travel rush’s hometown to a big city. In this regard, Shan Xinghua revealed that 12306 is doing relevant research. In the future, the function of priority allocation of return tickets may be introduced for passengers who have already booked their return tickets.
Experts dispel doubts
This "leak" can be picked up at three major time points.
Every year, when Spring Festival travel rush grabs tickets, there will be a "three major missing time" ticket purchase strategy, including 45 minutes after the sale, 15 days before the departure, 24 hours and 48 hours before the departure. Is this strategy reliable?
Zhang Zhiqiang, deputy director of the 12306 Technology Department of the Academy of Iron and Steel Sciences, said that these time points are related to the refund fee and payment time, and there will indeed be a data peak, which can be picked up.
Zhang Zhiqiang explained that 15 days before departure is the last time to waive the refund fee. From 48 hours to 24 hours before departure, it will be charged at 10% of the fare, and less than 24 hours will be charged at 20% of the fare. This period is the centralized refund period before the refund fee becomes higher, and there will indeed be a slight increase in refund. He also reminded passengers that the alternate function is the "official missing artifact" of 12306, and you can choose multiple alternate functions to purchase tickets.
